Italy to the UN in the front line against the attack in Algiers
Contrary to what was said earlier on this blog ("Printing, School and Life), at least one Italian responded immediately to the barbaric massacre of Algiers last December 11, 2007: it is our Ambassador Marcello Spatafora, President for the month of December the UN Security Council. The ambassador read the text of the declaration approved in record time by Fifteen representatives of the important institutional body of the United Nations. "The Council stresses the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers, sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism to justice and urges all States to collaborate actively with the Algerian authorities," he told our ambassador during a press conference organized quickly.
The Italian flag flown for the entire month of December on top of the flagpole UN Security Council. Of course, not just so we thought we'd start our mandate and to give visibility to our country that, despite everything, at the United Nations has accumulated experience in Washington and enjoys great prestige.
